Aaron Nelson-Moody / Tawx'sin Yexwulla has been working as an artist since 1998. He has travelled throughout Canada, Scotland, and Japan sharing his Squamish heritage. Aaron helped carve the Canada House doors for the 2006 Torino Olympics, and he has also worked for Adbusters Magazine as a contributing writer and photographer. He is actively involved in storytelling and dancing as well, both within and outside of his community. In recent years, Aaron has participated in two Tribal Journeys canoe trips, both of which used the Squamish Nation's 50-foot canoe. He studied with and worked alongside the acclaimed Xwalacktun / Rick Harry, who is a wood and stone sculptor, jeweller, and teacher. In February of 2008, Aaron graduated from the Northwest Coast Jewellery Arts Program at Vancouver's Native Education College, which was led by Haida/Kwakwaka’wakw artist Dan Wallace. In 2009, Aaron was included in the successful Continuum: Vision and Creativity on the Northwest Coast exhibition at Vancouver’s Bill Reid Gallery. In 2010, Aaron did a great deal of work for the Vancouver Winter Olympics, including demonstrations and having two of his sculptures on display at event venues.
