Robert belongs to Wilps Gwinyoo's, Lax̱gibuu Bear clan, and his family comes from Gitlaxt’aamiks. He is a fourth-generation artist, drawing inspiration from his family, including his uncle Brad Percival. He completed a diploma at Freda Diesing Northwest Coast Fine Arts in 2024. His work focuses on carving, painting, drum making, and jewellery. He is currently living in unceded Ts'msyen Nation territory in Gitlaxdax (Terrace) with his wife, children and his bike shop R.E.D Cycles and art studio.
