Paul Jones was Eagle Clan. He was born circa 1847 and died 1927. Although he lived in Skidegate for much of his life, he was from a family on Tanu Island. His brother, Moses, was an established argillite carver as well. Paul’s figures are distinctive because they often display wide grinning mouths, sunken cheeks, and up-tilted heads. He was best known for average sized model poles (8” to 12” in height).
