Morris started carving in his early 20s and apprenticed under Beau Dick and Bruce Alfred. His brother Joe Johnny is also a woodcarver. In 2002, Morris carved a large totem pole for the Umista Cultural Centre with fellow Kwakwaka’wakw artist Stephen Bruce.
