Latham Mack was born in 1985 in Bella Coola, BC. His traditional name is Quulunn, which means Beaver. Latham studied under Harvey Mack, Lawrence Mack, and Alvin Mack, and carved his first mask at the age of thirteen. He helped carve two totem poles in his hometown that were raised in 2002 and 2008, and he has also taught youth about Nuxalk dance and culture in summer programs. In 2008, Latham began studying at the Freda Diesing School in Terrace, where he learned design and carving techniques under acclaimed artists Stan Bevan, Ken McNeil, and Dempsey Bob. He graduated in 2010 with Honours. While at Freda Diesing Latham recieved two YVR Art Foundation Youth Scholarships. Indianapolis' Eiteljorg Museum and Vancouver's Museum of Anthropology have both purchased pieces from Latham for their permanent collections.
