Jack comes from a family of argillite carvers and learned basic skills early on from his brother Glen. Sold his first piece in 1979. He specializes in traditional forms and often avoids embellishments such as inlays and overlays. In 2011, Jack was an advisor for the Council of the Haida Nation’s publication Haida Marine Traditional Knowledge Study.
