Harold was born in 1956 in Old Massett, Haida Gwaii, British Columbia. Through his high quality work, Harold has earned the respect of his many peers, apprentices, and collectors. He has helped many younger master carvers to perfect their skills. He was first influenced by the designs and aesthetic of his sister, artist Sharon Hitchcock. His brother, George Yeltatzie, is also an established jeweler.
