Doug is Nuu-chah-nulth from the Wolf Clan. He is an artist who works in Sioux as well as West Coast styles on dance rattles, masks, miniature masks, cedar bark, silver, leather, and antler. Taught by his father, acclaimed Nuu-chah-nulth artist Joe David, Doug has been exposed to art from the West Coast and the Southwest his entire life. While Doug now lives on Vancouver Island, he has travelled a great deal and has worked in Seattle, various spots in California, and Hawaii. He plans to develop his skills in printmaking in the near future.
