Cai Brown (they/them) is a mixed media artist who has been drawing and painting from a young age. The artwork Cai creates reflects their passion for nature and community, inspired by the interconnectedness between every being in an ecosystem. They began learning to create beadwork in 2021 with help from their friends, using the medium to remain connected with community and culture. In 2022, they began to learn wood carving and tool making from Squamish artist Aaron Nelson-Moody. Cai is pursuing an education in STEM with an interest in biochemistry and how Indigenous and Western knowledge can complement each other. In 2023, Cai designed the youth raffle box for the Annual Charity Bentwood Box event at Lattimer Gallery.
