"I find it ironic that this collage piece speaks of the present and of the past - before the settlers’ arrival and after - in such a poignant way. The Sacred Buffalo roamed in large numbers. They provided my Plains Cree Ancestors with food, clothing, and Sacred ceremonial items. In a matter of years, the Buffalo were decimated, the earth was ripped open, foreign crops were planted, and an era of freedom ended for my people in many ways."
