"In my family, we would often yell ‘soup’s up!’ to let the kids know when dinner was ready. I wanted something that reflected the fun, yet nurturing relationship that parents, aunts, and uncles have with the kids in the family. I thought ravens would be perfect for this piece, because of their playful and curious nature and, in the way they rely on each other as they grow."
