Patterns of crescent shapes in Salish jewellery are sometimes referred to as Goat Horn designs. Actual goat horns have been used to make Salish bracelets through history, with these patterns carved on them. Here, Jody Sparrow uses concentric circles and crescents to create the 'Big Boom'. The bail depicts the head of a goat, alluding to the practice of carving goat horns.
