“When I look and touch an old bentwood box I imagine the origin and the journey it took to get to where it is today. When distressing this piece, I imagined it rubbing against other boxes, being soaking wet, used for voyages by land and water, what it held, and where it eventually remained until it was cherished again. I used these thoughts while creating this piece.”
