30" x 24" Artist Statement: Displacement is a central theme in this painting. In the process of fracking, large amounts of water are extracted from the earth. While these resources are maintained in this way there is a disconnect from the source of their extraction. The communities closest to these industrial sites are most impacted by the environmental consequences yet the revenue generated is not fully compensated back into the communities.
