At 'Ksan, Wilf was instructed by Earl Muldon, Ken Mowatt, Vernon Stevens, and the late Walter Harris. Major projects from the past included carving an 8-foot pole for the Houston Museum in Houston, BC, and carving a Wolf mask for the Glenbow Museum in Calgary, AB, during the Olympic Exhibition in 1988. While Wilf is widely known for his wood carving, he also produces original paintings.
