Sáx̌va
KC Hall is one of the hottest Northwest Coast artists right now. From creating a lightbox installation titled House of Hoops for Foot Locker for locations across Canada to being invited by Bombay Sapphire to participate in their Create from Home campaign, 2020 has been a busy year so far for KC. This year has also been tough on the art world, as artists struggle for commissions and galleries strive to serve their clients despite COVID-related closures. Lattimer Gallery has had to think outside of the box in order to support our artists and meet the needs of our customers. From encouraging commissions to standing behind orders we placed with artists pre-pandemic, we have managed to preserve our values as a company and our role as a key business in the Vancouver art world.
After speaking with KC about the past few months, we mutually felt the need to do something for our community. Titled sáx̌va (to be isolated from one’s group), we are launching an online show May 29th, 2020 that will include a variety of pieces that range in price and size. This show has been designed to meet all budgets and to provide KC with a blank canvas (numerous canvases, in fact!) upon which to create. Featuring small works and skate decks, this show enabled KC to work with any colours and themes he desired. A preview will be up on our site beginning on May 26th and the pieces will be available for sale starting at 10am PST on May 29th. The show will run until May 12th.
“This show represents a lot for a little, in more ways then one. A lot of art, in a little bit of time. A little bit of love can help us all right now, a lot.” – KC Hall
