Philip Clifton has been carving since 2000. He has worked with Chuck Heit (Ya Ya). In 2006, he worked at the House of Culture in Vancouver, BC, with Lyle Campbell (Haida), Mike Dangeli (Nisga'a/Tlingit/Tsimshian), and Philip Gray (Tsimshian/Cree). He is primarily a wood carver, and enjoys carving masks.
