Sweetpea, the name given to him by his mother before he was even born, began painting at an early age. He was mentored by established Woodlands artists, Isaac Bignell and Garry Meeches. Many of his pieces focus on the Canada Goose, which is a symbol of Canada and native to the marshlands of Manitoba. Themes relating to family are also common in Sweetpea’s work. He has painted replica shields and drums in the past, but mainly works on paper.
