Martin began carving in 2018 after being gifted a set of tools by his grandfather. He apprenticed with Nuu-chah-nulth artist, Moy Sutherland, and Kwakwaka'wakw artist Rande Cook. In 2021 Martin was awarded the YVR Art Foundation's Emerging Artist Scholarship. Martin's work can be found in private collections throughout Canada and in galleries in Victoria, Vancouver, and Seattle, WA. His goal is to visit with, learn from and work under a variety of artists to see how techniques and styles vary to expand his practice. Currently, Martin’s studio is located on Lekwungen people's territory (Victoria, BC).
