Dion Williams was born and raised in Skidegate on Haida Gwaii, and belongs to the Raven clan. He started to carve in 2004 with his godfather, Wayne Wilson. He has gained additional knowledge and training from his brother, Greg Williams, and his cousin, Jim Edenshaw. While he is gaining wide recognition for his jewellery, Dion is also a proficient weaver and has created several limited edition prints. He is involved in many aspects of his culture, including singing, dancing, and fishing. Dion currently lives on Vancouver Island.
