Richard owns and operates a family-run business, utilizing wood that is undesirable to major forestry companies. He works almost exclusively in wood; carving totem poles, masks, and bent boxes. In 1994, he carved a totem pole for the Commonwealth Games in Victoria, BC. Richard is Chair of the Aboriginal Tourism Association of British Columbia.
